Product safety first since 1989
With experience dating back to 1989 – the year of the first Machinery Directive (Directive 89/392/EEC) – we support you in evaluating product safety throughout all stages of the process.
Product safety must be ensured during the design, manufacturing, and distribution phases to minimize health risks and protect the safety of end-users.
Our experts throughout the various stages:
- Assist company designers during the risk assessment phase, a fundamental process in creating safe products
- Verify the technical and legal compliance of materials used in product manufacturing, ensuring they meet specific safety requirements
- Advise on and oversee instrumental testing and trials to assess product safety
- Check compliance with applicable legal and technical standards at both national and international levels. For certain products, the CE marking process (product directives) is required to certify their safety
- Provide guidance for drafting labels and/or user manuals: both must be designed and written in accordance with applicable legal and technical standards. The user manual is considered “the first safety device of a product.”
General Product Safety
Our experts issue technical-legal opinions on “General Product Safety” in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 and to support reporting under the “European Sustainability Reporting Standards – ESRS S4 Consumers and End Users.”
Liability for damage caused by defective products
We also provide consultancy on “Liability for Damage Caused by Defective Products” in accordance with Directive (EU) 2024/2853.
Product Directives
The “Product Directives,” which require CE marking, establish the Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSRs) that products must meet to circulate freely within the European Union market, along with the relevant conformity assessment procedures.
These directives cover a range of products from “Low Voltage Electrical Equipment” to “Batteries,” but our experts mainly provide consultancy for the following products:
- Low Voltage Electrical Equipment [Directive 2014/35/EU]

- Toys [Directive 2009/48/EC]
- Electromagnetic Compatibility [Directive 2014/30/EU]
- Construction Products [Regulation (EU) 2024/3110, fully applicable from 08.01.2026]
